The Promotion Programme for Finnish Food Culture (SRE)

The promotion programme for Finnish food culture is a Government programme whose implementation is the responsibility of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The aim of the programme is to raise the appreciation of Finnish food.

The three-year programme (2008-2011) is targeted to those who make decisions on food-related issues and Finnish consumers, especially children, young people and families with children.

The programme promotes cooperation between various stakeholders to improve the appreciation of Finnish food. Key priorities are joint action and efficient use of resources, for the benefit of Finnish food and each link in the food chain. The programme highlights communication, produces new ideas and steers joint actions. Attention is drawn to a diversified food culture. Efforts are also directed to promoting local and organic food, better quality, steering nutritional behaviour and internationalisation of the Finnish food sector.
